Kenyan Ichamama AA

 45 201

Arabica / Light-Medium roast/ Kenya/ Wet/ Aromas of cherries, red apple, caramel and chocolate

Ichhamama is a coffee processing plant run by the Othaya Farmers’ Cooperative, which was established in 1956 and initially had 250 farming members.  Today there are about 15,000 farmers with small plantations. The cooperative currently has a nursery (for young coffee bushes) and 19 processing plants, with all farmers being shareholders in these institutions.  The station is named after the nearby Ichama River which provides the water for the coffee processing processes.
This coffee comes from the Nyeri area which is known for its optimal climatic conditions with coffee and this fact is very evident in the result in the cup – intense coffee, with high acidity, full body and distinct fruit flavors.
In buying this coffee, in direct trade, we introduced a guaranteed social premium at the cost of buying the coffee that is delivered transparently as a donation to the Najamba Karoma Regional Elementary School in Kiambo County.
