The Ruhango washing station, named after the Southern district, is a two hour drive from
Kigali. Its water source is an underground spring, the soil sandy and the varietal Bourbon ,
growing at an altitude of 1590 meters. The processing includes double fermentation – 12
hours wet + 18 hours dry, followed by 24 hours soaking and 15 hours drying on raised
African beds
